onX Hunt: GPS Hunting Maps App Reviews

Whether an outdoorsmen, hunter, hiker, camper, fisherman, etc----if you dont have this app, you should. Being able to navigate land ownership is critical and this app does it all. Private vs public and giving land owner names where it can. Seeing federal lands, state Forest areas, etc....topo is very helpful as well when when working an area. This really came to life when I was in Wisconsin on property I had permission to be on but didnt know all boundaries. I was approached by another land owner who was upset and stating I was trespassing. I quickly pulled out my phone and APP and was quickly able to stop the discussion from going further. I even offered to call the local officer if he wanted to discuss. After seeing the map the land owner quickly went on about his business. So useful and helpful to get back into areas that I once thought was impossible or all private access. Game changer for sure. Get yours and you wont regret it.

For me the landownership info is priceless. Hunting around Eastern Kansas most of the ground is privately owned and the ability to find the landowners name is crittical. Once the geese start feeding in the surrounding grain fields the nightly scouting begins.

Hands down a must download especially if you hunt public property! Heck even if your scouting and want to know who owns what- its awesome!!! Used it for shed hunting and marked my tracks with the app, worth the money in my opinion!

OnXmaps has brought my hunting to a whole new level, from marking locations, finding my spots, wind and weather to everything I could possibly need in one spot. I used it last weekend to mark my rooster turkey, measure to my blind in yards and mark track the path the turkeys would take to a great location. Amazing tool, highly recommend!

I bought this app for hunting and its great for that but I also find it very useful in my daily business dealings as a landscape professional. The app allows me to see property lines and landowners. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. This purchase is worth ever penny!

This app is very user friendly backed by great customer service. I use this app not only for hunting, but for hiking, riding my horses, and scouting for new land to explore. I love being able to track how far I have travelled from the starting point marked on the map. This is a must have app.

This is one of my favorite apps. Being able to scout new areas and knowing public from private is vital. You know youre on the same page when the Fish and Game use the same thing. Its helped me gain access to new hunting areas.

I have this App on my phone and now I dont know how I ever survived without it. The maps are clear and precise. The software is extremely easy to use. I can track my footsteps when stalking game and following blood trails. It has allowed me to know exactly where Im located at all times which helps make hunting decisions a lot easier. Every Hunter who doesnt have this app is one step behind the rest of us.

This app has amazing accurate information that has been extremely useful for me. I only hunt public land and this app has shown me public land that I never knew about.

Great use for hunting and scouting. Uses are endless. Mark your stands and even trail cameras. Started using it for marking turkey roost areas and known travel routes

When not using my handheld GPS Im using my app. The best thing I have found yet is using it while traveling down the road. I have found numerous pieces of public ground I would have otherwise driven by. Download it and see what you have been missing!

This is one of the most used piece of gear I own. You wont believe how easy yet informative this app is. It will definitely up your odds.

It was to up load works better than I expect on my phone. It is nice to have it with me all the time

App is good but not cheap. Being able to see land owner boundaries is the best part of the app for my money.

I have been using these apps for 2 years. This year I added 2 more surrounding states. They have help me locate public land that you wouldnt even know existed and have given me the ability to request permission to landowners for hunting rights. This year they added some awesome updates that include the ability to see how many Boone & Crocket scored game have been taken in the area you are hunting. How cool is that. I highly recommend.

First there is a learning curve to it, but not too bad. Play around in it an hour or so and you will be a pro. I have used this to keep from trespassing and from being in the wrong GMU. It is very worth in the long run. Also cheaper than a ticket. Just buy it and you will wonder why you waited so long.

This app is a MUST HAVE if you hunt out of state and knock on doors for permission!! Great App!!
